Politecnica Ingegneria ed Architettura together with Cooprogetti Scrl, Archest and other professionals, have signed the contract for the development of the technical and economic feasibility project including CSP, DL and CSE for the seismic upgrading and re-functionalisation of the Montezemolo barracks in Palmanova (Udine), an intervention with a total cost of EUR 18,767,479.50.
The only site in north-eastern Italy within the Recovery Art project, Palmanova will be the fortress where Italian works of art will be preserved and recovered in the event of natural disasters, earthquakes, floods, landslides or anything else that may jeopardise their preservation. The former Montezemolo Barracks, subject to monumental and landscape protection, occupies an area of 50,000 square metres and will therefore be a repository for works of art, a restoration laboratory and a research and exhibition centre for national artistic artefacts.
